Woodcliffe Park Q&A

Woodcliffe Park FAQ & Answers

Q: I have seen dogs out without a leash and I have also seen people not pick up their dog waste. What can I do about this problem?
Answer: You can call Steven Bartlett at Animal Control at 301-279-1823 to file an official complaint.

Q: I want to put a deck on my home as well as some new landscaping in the front yard. How do I go about getting approval and how long does the approval take?
Answer: All homeowners in Woodcliffe Park who wish to make structural changes or any major changes to the exterior of their home need to fill out an architectural change form.
This must be filled out completely and you must provide in writing all pertinent details regarding the project to The Management Group. (The more information you provide, the better we are able to understand your pending project.) The Architectural Committee meets once a month to review all AC forms. Your approval may take up to 45 days but you will get a notice in writing regarding your approval or denial. You must wait to have this paper before you begin work. Your approval letter is valid, for one year so getting your AC form early is always a good idea.

Q: Who can I contact for a bulk trash pick up?
Answer: You may call Potomac Disposal at 301-294-9700. You need to schedule this type of pick up in advance. They will come out 2 times a year to do this type of pick up.

Q: I have a lot of yard debris like branches and leaves? Who will pick this up?
Answer: Waste Management (the recycling company) will pick this type of trash up on Thursdays as long as it is bundled and/or in PAPER bags.

Q: Who mows the swales in front of the single family homes?
Answer: All homeowners in these homes are responsible for mowing the swales in front of their home.

Q: Who do I call if I have a general concern about an issue in Woodcliffe Park?
Answer: You have 4 options for voicing your concerns.

First, you may send a letter in writing to The Management Group Associates, 20440 Century Boulevard, Suite 100. Germantown, Maryland  20874, Property Manager: Todd Hassett

Second, you may call TMGA at 301-948-6666.

Third, you may e-mail your question or concern through this website under the tab 'ask a question' to TMGA as well as the homeowner board representatives will get a copy of this.

Q: Who shovels sidewalks in the neighborhood?
Answer: Each homeowner is responsible for clearing the sidewalk in front of his or her home.

Q: Why are the townhouse assessments so much higher than the single family homes assessments?
Answer: The townhouses are built as a private community meaning that townhouse owners are responsible for sidewalk and street repairs, street lights and snow removal. Among the single family homes, the aforementioned is owned and maintained by the county.

Q: What is the front foot benefit charge?
Answer: The front foot benefit charge is a cost passed on by the developer to each homeowner to cover the construction and installation of the water and sewer system. It is assessed as a fixed annual fee, which is due every February 1st. The fee begins upon settlement of the unit and continues for the next 23 years. It was determined by the developer, who took the total cost of the project and divided it by the number of feet of the pipe of the pipeline that he was required to put in.
